Inspiration: A samovar is a Russian tea urn that's a big part of the social life in Eastern Europe, it was Jesse Jacob's dream to recreate childhood memories with a tearoom that provided intimate, tranquil spaces.
About the business: In 2001 Jacobs opened the Samovar Tea Lounge in San Francisco. With a zen-like look and feel including natural bamboo and intimate seating, it was so successful he opened Samovar Tea Lounges in two other San Francisco neighborhoods. Recent sales $3 million.
